Uses of Hydroxypropyl acrylate

Hydroxypropyl acrylate can be used in the production of adhesives, thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents, and modifiers for synthetic resin copolymers, as well as in the preparation of lubricant additives. As a functional monomer, 1,2-propanediol,1-acrylate serves as a crosslinking monomer for acrylic resins, improving product adhesion, weather resistance, chemical resistance, impact resistance, and gloss. It is utilized in the manufacture of synthetic resins, adhesives, thermosetting coatings, and more. Additionally, hydroxypropyl acrylate is employed in producing fiber treatment agents, latex, printing inks, medical materials, and other applications. It is also one of the primary crosslinking functional monomers used in acrylic resins. 2-hydroxypropyl acrylate is mainly used in the production of thermosetting acrylic coatings, UV-curable coatings, photosensitive coatings, textile treatment agents, adhesives, paper processing, water stabilizers, and polymer materials. Hydroxypropyl acrylate,HPA is characterized by its ability to significantly enhance product performance even when used in small quantities.

2 Hydroxypropyl acrylate

Hydroxypropyl acrylate is a colorless and transparent liquid with a pungent odor and certain chemical activity. Its storage requires comprehensive consideration of various factors. The specific storage conditions are as follows:

Temperature and Light

Temperature: It should be stored in a cool environment, and the storage temperature is generally recommended to be maintained between -10°C and 25°C. Excessively high temperatures may accelerate the polymerization reaction of hydroxypropyl acrylate, causing product deterioration and affecting its chemical properties and usability.

Light: Direct sunlight should be avoided because exposure to light such as ultraviolet rays may trigger photochemical reactions, promoting the polymerization reaction. Therefore, indoor storage is generally adopted, and shading materials can be installed on the windows of the warehouse to reduce the impact of light on the product.

Container Selection

Material: Sealed containers that meet relevant standards should be used for storage, usually stainless steel containers or plastic containers (such as high-density polyethylene containers). Hydroxypropyl acrylate is corrosive to metals (such as iron), so ordinary iron containers should not be used, while stainless steel containers can better resist its corrosive effect; for plastic containers, it is necessary to ensure that they do not chemically react with hydroxypropyl acrylate, and high-density polyethylene containers are a more suitable choice.

Sealing: The container must have good sealing performance to prevent air from entering. Because hydroxypropyl acrylate is more prone to oxidation and polymerization reactions in the presence of oxygen, a well-sealed container can reduce contact with oxygen and extend the product's shelf life.

Environmental Requirements
